It's Going to Rain

They are saying Ike is coming to Austin. We're a few hours inland, so I'm not sure what these people are talking about, but we're gonna get some weather. And so people will probably overrreact and freak out.

I recall when Hurricane Gilbert was tearing up the Gulf, circa 1988, we were going to get some crazy weather. It rained mildly for about thirty minutes.

I'm still buying some batteries, water and a 6 foot party sub to get me through...

I evacuated to Austin, once.

You should have stayed. We could have used a man of your talents.

It might not be a bad idea to kill and skin your neighbors. Jerky lasts a long time.

That so leads into a post I was going to do soon... I finally read an account of the Donner Party.

Holy moley...

Don't you celebrate EVERY weekend with a 6 foot party sub?

I did go buy a lantern, a cooler and some water. And two packs of goldfish crackers. But that's just because I like goldfish crackers.

Goldfish are a staple at our house. But that's because our boys are obsessed with them. Last time we went to the store we had to buy these flavors (and, yes, there were more flavors we did NOT buy): pizza, pretzel, parmesan cheese, extreme cheese, mini sized fish, and one with regular goldfish AND starfish in the same bag....a kindergarten age hit for sure.

So, your like of them is backed up by three little Brown boy punks over here who would 'have your back' on the goldfish run.....

Whether 3 or 33, Goldfish are a delicious treat any time. They were on sale if you buy 3 packs, so I tried pizza and parmesan a few weeks back.

I don't spend much time pondering snacks, but I think they translate well across the flavors because of the texture. It's a deeply satisfying crunch.
