World Does Not End

Here's the article.

But we already knew that.

More on LHC. Once again, in song.

Okay, I normally try to keep things clean but this had to be posted. To the right of that link you put above is a link to a background article on this end of the world business. Can someone email this writer and please tell him not to title his article, "Black Holes for Everyone"......um....what?

Actually, they haven't started colliding particles yet. So there's still hope that we'll all die.

oh, hey now, Mere! (who knew the LHC was up to such shenanigans?)

I really don't remember this much anticipation about anything scientific since the Mars landers. And, I suppose, the first pictures from Hubble.

Yeah, I was gonna say that someone jumped the gun by proclaiming the world wasn't going to end. We still have plenty of time to destroy the world once they start actually colliding particles instead of just running them around the track. This is like the flase, happy ending on the Twilight Zone right before they move to some kind of parting scene that lets you know that the world is still actually doomed...

Hellllloooo? Is anyone else dissapointed that a mild mannered phsycisist didn't stumble into the path of screaming neutrons and gain ungodly powers?

I'm disappointed... but then again I still hold out hope that such a thing might happen.
