Things That Make Me Sad

1) Beverly Hills Chihuahua has been #1 at the box office for two weeks. It has earned $55 million domestically. here

2) There is a line of Beverly Hills Chihuahua stuff at Petsmart. Just say no. Dogs are not dolls.

3) Spoiler: Jonathan "Pa" Kent died in Action Comics #870 last week.

4) No matter how much time you have, it's never enough

5) This year when watching "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown", I will know that both Charles Schultz and Bill Melendez are no longer with us

6) I talk a lot of smack about the future of comics being online, but I still only read Achewood and re-runs of Calvin & Hobbes and Peanuts online for the most part. Other than that, I depend on Leaguers sending me funny strips. I never made it through Zuda's "Bayou", as I decided I'd rather wait to see if they printed it. They did not. I never got around to spending $60 this year to read back-issues of Marvel.

7) I will never read 99% of what I probably should, and, that roughly translates to option paralysis

8) Movies like Ratatouille get forgotten in favor of lesser films

9) Sometimes I don't know what it is that Lucy would like when she obviously wants something....

10) Too much of the time, I am not the change I am looking for

Book 1 has been completed. I believe it comes out next year. They talked about it at the San Diego Comic Con. I was in the audience.

Thanks for the update, Tom. I will need to make a list of things which make me happy.

1) It is just living off the Beverly Hills name. People are coming out disappointed that there is no Alex Foley.

2) Dogs are also not drugs. Say no to drugs.

3) I thought he died in Superman the movie?

4) I always thought it was the world was not enough as you sit atop your sadistic media empire.

5) What a great idea for Ghostbusters 3.

6) I thought the future of on-line comics was the site Funny or Die.

7) I've always found that 99% of what I've read I probably shouldn't have.

8) Movies like the Toxic Avenger are forgotten in favour of greater films.

9) I just think she wants to snatch the football away from you.

10) I just spend too much time looking for change in the seat cushions of my couch.

11) Can you tell I'm taking medication for my cold?

It may be time for Simon to crawl back between the blankets for a nice, long sleep and a bottle of NyQuil.

1. Beverly Hills Chihuahua earned that money. That movie represents YEARS worth of acting lessons for those dogs.
2. Dogs CAN be dolls. If you kill them and have them stuffed.
3. Pa Kent has died in various ways and forms before. He'll be okay. When you're a comic character, death is, at worst, a temporary setback.
4. It's better to feel like you don't have enough time than to feel like you have too much. Just ask the inamtes of the Texas Department of Corrections.
5. Well, at least they had a good run of things. And it's better to be dead and gone as opposed to being frozen like Walt Disney.
6. Comics will continue to be better in paper form until they invent some kind of computer apparatus that you're comfortable viewing in the bathroom.
7. Read more.
8. Movies like Mansquito get forgotten in favor of lesser films.
9. Oftentimes even Lucy isn't sure what Lucy wants. She just wants something new now.
10. Escape the rut and do something new. Only you can save you, and time is, in fact, slipping away.

Randy wins.

I dunno. Randy's mom makes me sad.

I say dog dolls are okay. Not dogs as dolls, but dolls that are dogs.

At least, they're a good substitute for the kids until they beg for a real one.

Randy's mom makes me feel all warm and tingly.

Yup, you can't go wrong with a doll of a dog. Especially until the kids are old enough to feed, walk, etc... with the dog.

Wow, the comments thread on this one went down the toilet quickly, didn't it......

By the way, LOVE steanso's #6.

I think Steanso's #6 is actually pretty accurate.

Things occasionally take a quick trip downhill. Usually Randy isn't the one to take it that direction, first, but I'm always proud when he does.
