No post today

For some reason I thought of Jim D in this get-up walking around town, going to work with a briefcase, and I laughed and laughed and laughed.

Watched episode 1 of "The Wire" tonight. ate dinner at Jason's with Jason, Jamie and Nicole.

Work is busy.

I tried to think up questions to challenge you guys, but nothing is coming to mind.

May I suggest "Look Around You" from the BBC, currently on Adult Swim?

Going to bed.

EDIT: You ask me questions, and I shall strive to answer them.

ALSO EDIT: Extraordinarily good news for Comic Nerds.

One panel, and its already my favorite depiction of Robin since the 80's.

Wow, that is good news! If it's Morrison and Quitely on Batman, will it be in continuity? Isn't Batman's ID up for grabs (Tussle for the cowl or some such)? Of course, they can't exactly call it ASB&R. Still, I think the market could support 2 all-star versions of Batman, esp if each comes out every 3 months or so. Whatever, I'm psyched!

Oh, I'm sure you've been told, but "The Wire" is the best TV ever. You're in for a treat.

What kind of questions can we ask? Wait... did I just waste my question asking that? Oh crap. Did I just waste my other question asking THAT?

I'm not positive, but I think the new series is in Morrison continuity. So bone up on your Black Glove, etc... DC seems to have realized they can get a lot more support for their mainline titles by getting the big guns on them rather than counting on name recognition and good will for the titles. And it looks like this time they're including an artist that has a cult following as well.

Should be fun.

Not sure if its Bruce or not, but I imagine they'll get that sorted by June.

And, Jason, you may ask all the questions you like.

Eh, Morrison's run on the Batman title hasn't exactly been great. In fact, the "death" fiasco shows how even a "big gun" can misfire.

The art looks stunning though.

I'll be honest, I wasn't crazy about the last few pages of the RIP storyline, but otherwise, I enjoyed it quite a bit. To some extent, I thought Morrison got far more screwed by Didio's overenthusiastic schilling of the book to the media and comic nerds. If he'd just let it go, it wouldn't have been as big of a deal.

I absolutely wanted more resolution, though. And I'm hoping that we'll see that when he returns.

ALSO, I'm hoping that Quitely will be better at conveying story. I always felt Daniel was kind of slapping down pictures that sort of conveyed story, but with Quitely... the man knows how to tell a story. Does that make sense?
