A Brief Hiatus

I leave you with this clip. The music is not original to the movie. This clip seems to be a fan creation. Also, I've never seen this movie before, but it just got bumped to the top of my Netflix Queue.

Miss Vera Lynn and "The Battle of Britain".

We'll be back before you know it.

As you know, I am of the school which thinks any flying machine is a mechanical marvel - and beautiful, even if their occupants are trying to kill one another. In this case, the music is a perfectly suited.

Do you remember the scene in "Good Morning Vietnam" where, as the helicopters were evacuating the dead and wounded, Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" was the background music? If not, you gotta see that one as well.

I remember it well, TA.

I think part of what struck me in particular with this clip is that my generation and younger is so used to seeing CG and/ or models. None of which really behave like planes in flight. Its just amazing footage.

And, this is actually somewhat to scale for the real deal. Its one thing to imagine or read about this many bombers and fighters aloft, but to see someone try to replicate it?
