League Lagniappe (Week of November 23rd)

Hey, y'all...

I'm gonna try to bring back something I did at the media site, which was the Signal Watch Rewind, over a decade ago.

It's just a regular collection of a bunch of junk in small bits you can just scroll through and see if you care or not.  I'll include YouTube clips, links off to other sites, and maybe other things that haven't fired off a full post, but I kinda want to share.

Like...

Animal I didn't know exists:  The Binturong

It reminds me of when I went to Costa Rica in 2008 with Steanso and no one had pre-told me about Coati, and one wandered out of the woods while I was bird watching, and... holy @#$%.  Mother nature is a mad scientist.

As Seen Above:  Slow Roll Out of Holiday Decorating

Due to the broken foot/ surgery, I have been couch and chair-bound for weeks.  And if you need evidence that a sedentary life absolutely is bad for you, yesterday I decided to put up our main Christmas Tree, and it basically became an all-day affair.

It will probably be a full two weekends to get the inside of the house done.  I'm not even sure we'll decorate the outside as I am not exactly loving running around on my post-op foot.

But above, you can see the tree.  It's a new one, bought on sale after last Christmas and in a box until yesterday.  It's marginally taller than our prior tree, and a bit fuller.  Emmylou was very confused as to what we were doing, but she's taken to the tree just fine.

It does seem the days of "on Day One we do the whole indoors and on Day Two we do the whole outdoors" is now a thing of the past.

UT Women's Basketball if Off to the Races

UT Women's Basketball is ranked Number 4, and is doing just fine in the early part of the season as they play unranked teams.  However, this coming Wednesday they play the mighty UCLA Bruins, and it's going to be a major test.  Lady Bruins are ranked #3.

More X-Rays

Friday, I went to the post-op appointment, and they X-Ray'd my foot.  Much better pics of my foot and the location of the screw.

Healing continues apace.  They took out the stitches and were surprised I was as far along as I am, pain-wise, which is an indicator of some solid healing.  Both immediately after the surgery and at the appointment, I was told this was the hardest surgery like this he'd ever done because I have very dense bones.  Which tracks.  I haven't broken a bone til this point.

Way to go, Karebear!  Insisting we drink milk at lunch and dinner for 18 years really paid off.

Sport That Is a Thing:  Gymwheel

I am unsure how this isn't a sport here.  I know I've seen these things, but it's been more in the context of, like, stage shows.  But it makes sense this would be a sport like ice skating.

Speaking of...

Also:  Artistic Skating

I found this at the height of lockdown and shared it then.  This is absolutely baller.

Anyway...

Let me know if there's novel animals I should see, sports I should check out, points of interest, etc...
