Maybe the ornament is a little weird, but so is Hallmark. And as long as they make ornaments for pretty much any other media franchise under the sun, it makes sense that eventually they'd want to float a trial balloon of what they have to offer from their own networks. And what Hallmark has leaned into of late is "Hallmark Stars" - of which Chabert is a bit singular.
And so it seems, rather than go all in on, say, the entire cast of Three Wisest Men, they've decided to go with one of their biggest stars who has more than a decade with the channel.
As you may know, we spent a good portion of early 2025 taking Randy up on his recommendation to watch every single movie Lacey Chabert had ever made. We did well with 70-something movies, but we're still down several movies that we may never be able to watch as we were unable to find copies of them. Maybe in 2026.
But when the ornament appeared, it seemed like something I absolutely could not pass up, and maybe that's how you and I differ. I cannot say. But, instead of just picking up Superman and Wonder Woman ornaments this year, we decided to go for Hallmark Keepsake's depiction of one of the brightest stars in the Hallmark Channel galaxy.
Honestly, the ornament is in a box until we pull out the tree on Thanksgiving weekend, per tradition. But at some point, I decided to leave a review after noting that, to date, there were no reviews, which I thought unfair. It's a solid ornament.
That was a week ago or so, and (apparently) I am the only person so far to submit a review that Hallmark saw fit to publish.
Yup, just yours truly, giving Ms. Chabert's miniature porcelain portrait 5 purple stars. And saying:
Now, I did lie and say I bought the ornament for another family member. Pretty clearly, Emmylou is a practicing Shintoist and doesn't celebrate Christmas. And Jamie's tree decorations follow some strict rules that have mostly work out for the best. So where Ms. Chabert shall hang is still unknown.
I notice I received a couple "this was helpful" thumbs-ups.
It's super nice that two people read this review and we're like, "yeah, man. That speaks to me. I did find your review helpful." Your pal, The League, helping out humanity one review at a time.
Hallmark is a big company, so I am surprised I am the only person thus far to send in a review. So I'm cherishing this moment as Chabert has been sent forth by Hallmark to promote her new Christmas movie (and likely her prior movies), her line of goods at Hallmark stores, and generally be the point-person for Hallmark this Christmas.
Semi-related, here's Kelly Clarkson asking Chabert about the ornament.
