Hey, Leaguers. Last year I think I got a little overambitious as far as The Mellies went. We had tons of questions, about 4X the number of respondents I'd expected, and I spent an insane amount of time putting the whole thing back together. Basically, by the end, I swore I'd never do it again.
Instead of abandoning the Mellies, I'm looking for interest levels to see if I should run this again.
How did you feel the last round went?
If we did it, would you participate?
Would you be willing to place your answers in the comments section rather than have me assemble everyone's responses?
It's in your hands, Leaguers. Tell me what you want.
I'm in! I'm in!
ReplyDelete(1) I liked participating in last year's round (insofar as my retarded pop consciousness was able to answer questions about goings-on in that big, flashy world out there).
ReplyDelete(2) Yes.
(3) Yes.
What do I want? The 2007 Mellies, that's what.
I think I am legally bound to participate.
ReplyDeleteThe comments section is a good idea. I saw how much of a hastle assembling responses was for you last year.
I think part of the problem is that your questions are so open-ended. It encourages people to write short dissertations.
ReplyDeleteThe open-ended questions are purely intentional. I do want for people to write.
ReplyDeleteIf this is a problem, it would be good to know prior to getting the ball rolling.
I like dissertations.
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, I can be brief too. You could always do multiple-choice, as well . . . .
A forum would be a good way to post your answers, rather than having Ryan compile or doing it in the comments, which have a character limit, me thinks.
ReplyDeleteWell, I think the best solution would be to do a Melly Question a Week. Posting in the comments is cool, but part of the fun was having you organize them together and comment yourself, rather than letting us see them as they are submitted. Maybe if you do one question a week, it might be easier?
ReplyDeleteI'm tempted to volunteer to help program the mellies' source code....
ReplyDelete...but....lemme think about it...

ReplyDeleteCould you host a vBulletin installation that we could just use for the Mellies?
I'm in.
ReplyDeleteDidn't we submit it through email ? Can't you do just a little cut and paste ? Certainly that can't be too bad.
The League is resourceful and will find a way. Might I suggest outsourcing to Maylasian children ?

I'm in if you do it. I'm happy to participate in any way that makes the process easier. I don't think we should do multiple choice though, that does tend to take the fun out of it.
ReplyDeleteI'm in, too.
ReplyDeleteI am in so deep I'm far out!
ReplyDeleteknsaxvya!!!!
I too am in. I've had an eventful 2007 already. - Howard K. Stern
ReplyDeleteI think you've got to bring it.
ReplyDeleteBring joy to the lives of your readers.
ReplyDeleteBring back The Mellies.
