Arden loves a good narwhal

If you're planning on watching some good TV in, oh, 2030 or so, I suggest you prepare yourself for the future endeavors of young Dr. Arden Hermann-Wilmarth.

Arden, you see, is a fan of all things sciency. And especially things which live below the waves.

So, yeah... I think you can expect our apple-cheeked science-nut here to soon be the next Jacque Cousteau. Look forward to his sea-faring adventures, just as soon as he finishes grad school.

This shirt is, by the way, made by Jill's mom. Which is pretty cool. Way to go, Hope!

She can explore the seas, my daughter will explore space, and together they will fight the forces of evil!

I feel the need to step in and clarify that Arden, though long of hair like Samson, is a dude. Otherwise, I see no reason the plan cannot proceed as you describe.

Yesterday, Jess and I suggested that he could be a doctor who studies animals. He looked interested. Then, Jess said, "Or, you could live with me for the rest of your life and be a slacker!"
"Yes! I want to be a slacker! That's the best idea yet!"
Hmm. We've got some parenting to do.

I dunno. I think he sounds like he's got his priorities in order. Get him an acoustic guitar, and I predict a bold future of cover songs, bad facial hair, and "stickin' it to the man" from the safety zone of the Hermann-Wilmarth sofa.

We're clearly on the right track.

Jill, I agree that you and Jess may have already set the wheels in motion. There is no turning back. Go get him the blacklight and Led Zeppelin posters now.

Thanks, Erica!
And Ryan, you've cleared up what he'll be getting for his fourth birthday--thanks for the ideas!!

If I didn't know any better, I would say that the Narwhal is an imaginary creature.

He needs one of those shirts that says, "Mommy drinks when I cry."
