Pat bought a new camera last week. I was leaving work and found him playing around with his camera and taking a picture or two of my car. Anyway, this is my car in daylight. In the parking lot where the Arby's once proudly stood on Guadalupe, just south of campus.

1) It's the back of something else. I have no idea. Beyond that is the News8 Austin building.
ReplyDelete2) I don't even know of Einstein's is still open, but I doubt it. I quit going to Einsteins in 1994 whenI realized there were kids who practically lived there and took too much pride in my easy defeat at Street Fighter.
It was open as of 2005, although barely anything else I remember in that area is. Sound Exchange, RIP.
ReplyDeleteThe Sonic/Arby's will soon be a towering condo, as all of Austin will soon be a condo. At that day, Californians will finally have a place for investment property which they can all not live in, but buy and sell to each other for all eternity.

ReplyDeleteThat was a rather nasty Arby's. The best Arby's in town was the one on 183, right near my current abode. Handy!
ReplyDeleteWest Campus! Ah, the land of burning apartment complexes, crime, puking sorority girls and outrageous rent. There are pockets of West Campus I like, and I would have killed for the convenience of living there when I was an undergrad, but it just never panned out that way.
